The Oroville Police Department is asking for helping identifying the suspect vehicle in a hit and run at the intersection of Oro Dam Boulevard and Lincoln Boulevard last Friday.

At approximately 4:45 p.m. last Friday, 53-year-old Wayne P. Freeman was traveling through the intersection on his motorized bicycle westbound on Oro Dam Boulevard when a four-door sedan traveling eastbound turned northbound into the intersection and collided into Freeman. The vehicle then fled the scene of the accident. Oroville Police Officers determined by collecting evidence and witness statements the sedan failed to stop for the red light at the intersection which subsequently caused the accident. Freeman was transported to Enloe Medical Center where he was treated for head trauma but was released on Saturday.

The suspect vehicle is described as a 1994 or newer Ford Taurus four-door sedan silver in color. The sedan was described as missing the rear bumper with and damage to the passenger side of the vehicle including the side mirror. No description of the actual suspect was available. The Oroville Police Department would like the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle and identifying the driver. Please contact the Oroville Police Department at 530-538-2448.
