Chico police are looking for the suspect in a stabbing at City Plaza.
It happened around 7pm Monday night.
The victim told police he passed the suspect, touched his shoulder and asked how he was doing. Police say the suspect asked why the victim was touching him and immediately pulled out a knife and stabbed the 19-year-old. The victim then ran across the street to Jack in the Box and had a friend pick him up to take him home.
It was at his apartment on Esplanade where the victim noticed he was stabbed in the lower abdomen and paramedics were called. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, treated and released.
He was able to give police a description of the suspect. Officers went to the downtown area, but were unable to find the suspect. He is described as a white male in his late twenties. He is around 5'10'' and 130 pounds.
If you have any information you are asked to call the Chico Police Department.
