A Chico man is in custody after he led officers on a pursuit lasting over 20 minutes through Paradise. An officer attempted to pull over a gold Toyota SR5 Pick-up for a minor traffic violation around midnight on Honey Run Road. When the car failed to stop a pursuit began leading officers more than 7 miles north of Honey Run Road.

The driver, identified as 24-year-old Justin Sakschewski, was taken into custody with the help of a police K9. Sakschewski admitted to fleeing from officers because he has 4 large garbage bags filled with unprocessed marijuana inside the car.

A record check showed that Sakschewski was currently released from Butte County Jail for an unrelated narcotics violation.

The pursuit lasted around 22 minutes and covered a total distance of 12.9 miles.
