(UPDATE) 6:- Cal Fire Capt. Scott McClain has confirmed with Action News Now the Swedes Fire is currently 2,139 acres at 64% containment. McClain credits the increase in personnel (from 900 this morning to 1,484 this afternoon) as well as overall increased resources for helping get a handle on the blaze. Cal Fire does plan on removing non-local resources from the area this evening, but will do so cautiously with the pending lightning storms in the area.
(UPDATE) 5:45 p.m.-As of 6 p.m. tonight, all Evacuation Warnings and Orders will be lifted for all areas of the Swedes Fire.
As of 1 p.m. today, Cal Fire has lifted some of the Warning Evacuation orders for residents affected by the nearly 2,000 acre Swedes Fire.
Warning Evacuations are being lifted for residents to return to their properties on Swedes Flat Road, Chinese Wall Road, Turkey Creek Trail, Deer Valley Road, Stoney Oaks Blvd, Stoney Oaks Loop, Obert Drive, Gaston Booth Road, Gold Mountain Road, Century Court. Hurleton Swedes Flat Road from Swedes Flat Road to Verner Oaks Drive – including Ricky Road, Soda Creek Ranch Road, Lorretta Lane, Maple Lane, Ooti Way, Purple Rocks Lane, Mistletoe Lane, Dickerson Lane and Greerty Road.
Cal Fire advises residents re-entering their neighborhoods to be aware of their surroundings and use caution driving though the fire area as fire and utility crews will be on the roads. If anyone feels that an area is unsafe, Cal Fire advises to leave the area and contact emergency personnel.
Cal Fire also advises residents to:
- Be alert for downed power lines and other hazards.
- Check propane tanks, regulators, and lines before turning on gas.
- Check your residence carefully for hidden embers or smoldering fires.
