James Villalobos is a general assignment reporter who joined Action News Now in May of 2017 after graduating from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

James Villalobos is a general assignment reporter who joined Action News Now in May of 2017 after graduating from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. He is very happy to be a part of the news team, and looks forward to telling your stories here in Northern California!

He comes from Western Massachusetts where he was born and raised. As an undergrad, James has reported around the country on a variety of different stories including the water crisis in Flint, Michigan, the protests in Ferguson, Missouri and Baltimore, Maryland, the bombing at the Boston Marathon, the Republican National Convention, and even the White House. Prior to his first full-time reporting job with Action News Now, he has interned with Western Mass News in his hometown Springfield, Massachusetts as well as WCVB NewsCenter5 in Boston.

James is a proud member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.

During his free time, James likes to listen to music, enjoy the outdoors, and of course…nap!
