Firefighters Responding to House Fire in City of Shasta Lake

Shasta Lake City Calif.—An early morning house fire in the city of Shasta Lake has left one woman homeless and at least one of her pets dead.

The fire broke out in the premanufactured home on the corner of Montana Avenue and Fort Peck Street around 5:30 this morning.

Firefighters arrived on scene shortly after to find the home fully engulfed in flames.

According to firefighters, there were flames coming from the windows and doors but they were able to knock out the fire in about 25 minutes.

Firefighters say that a parrot died in the fire, and one cat is not accounted for.

The woman living in the home is staying with a friend currently.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Firefighters think it could have originated in the bedroom.
