The Chico Police investigations unit is following up on a series of violent crimes.

And there's no word yet if they're connected.

They say Monday night a man was attacked near the corner of Manzanita and Ellene Avenues.

He was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.

Witnesses told police they saw two white men in their twenties wearing white t-shirts assault the victim, then ran towards the nearby Lindo Channel.

Chico Police sergeant says, “Officers arrived and discovered that it was actually a stabbing. A very serious stabbing.”

Chico Police say around 1:30 a.m. Saturday two men matching the same description robbed a man at West 2nd and Orange Streets and shot him in the back of the head. He is expected to survive.

Two other people were robbed in the same area just minutes earlier.

Witnesses say the two assailants were white, in their twenties, and armed with handguns.

We're working to find out more information from Chico Police and we will keep you posted.
