For more than 30 years, Boy Scout Troop Three has been harvesting Nandina berries for their annual fundraiser.

The boy scouts picked the berries along the Esplanade.

Nandina is typically grown as an ornamental plant after picking the berries, the boy scouts shook the berries off the branches and sold them to a seed company.

All the money raised helps to buy new equipment like tents and pots and pans.

Boy Scout, Robbie Foster, explains why he loves to be a part of the Boy Scouts.

“Really fun, we get to help out do a lot of community service help the community out just fun to help people,” Foster said.

If you have Nandina berries that can be harvested at your home or business, you can help out the scouts by contacting them!
