The swimmer everyone was watching this weekend at the Sierra Nevada Junior Olympics in Redding was national record breaker Winn Aung.

Earlier this summer, the 10-year-old Aung, a Redding Ducks team member, broke the national records for his age group in the 50-meter, 100-meter and 200-meter freestyle.

During the Junior Olympics meet, he was gunning for the 400-meter freestyle national record, but he came up short. Aung finished in 4 minutes, 44.16 seconds, 8.6 seconds off the mark, but he still won the event by 48 seconds.

Aung also set Junior Olympic meet records in the 50, 100, 200, and 400-meter freestyle events.
