SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - The San Jose Sharks have acquired pending restricted free agent forward Tyler Kennedy from Pittsburgh for a second-round draft pick.
The teams completed the deal before the start of the draft Sunday.
Kennedy had six goals and five assists in 46 games last season and adds needed depth to the Sharks' forward contingent. He also had two goals and three assists in nine playoff games. Kennedy has 76 goals and 92 assists in 372 career games with Pittsburgh.
San Jose sent the 50th overall pick to Pittsburgh. The Sharks still have two additional second-round picks, including Pittsburgh's at No. 58 in a previous deal for defenseman Douglas Murray. San Jose also has Pittsburgh's 2014 second-rounder in that deal.
