Despite their struggles, the Giants landed three players on the National League All-Star team, catcher Buster Posey, second baseman Marco Scutaro and left-handed pitcher Madison Bumgarner.
Posey, 26, made the team for the second consecutive year but will be a reserve behind the St. Louis Cardinals' Yadier Molina. He entered Saturday's game hitting .310 with 12 home runs and 48 RBIs.
Scutaro, 37, was named an All-Star for the first time in his 12-year career. He was batting .313 with two home runs and 18 RBIs entering Saturday.
Bumgarner, 23, was also a first-time selection. He was 8-5 with 3.08 ERA heading into his Saturday start against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
