Yuba City has announced today the Sierra Central Credit Union will break ground this week on their soon to be company headquarters.
A ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. today at the southeast corner of Harter Parkway and Butte House Road. Members of the Sierra Central’s Board of Directors, along with the supervisory committee and others associated with the expansion will be in attendance.
“This project has been in the works for many years,” said Sierra Central President Ron Sweeney. “We have a prime location on the corner of two heavily traveled roads, and are excited about improving our presence in Yuba City. Our new facility will also give us an opportunity to enhance our already great services.”
The new 53,000-square-foot corporate center is expected to house all Sierra Central’s administrative personnel currently working in four separate buildings throughout the city. The new site also has been master-planned for three buildings for potential future construction.
Sierra Central Credit Union was founded in 1955 and currently has 16 branches throughout northern California and $715 million in deposits, making them among the largest credit unions in the Sacramento region.
Major construction is scheduled to begin in March and the corporate center is anticipated to be completed by November.
