Update:  Yesterday, officers received additional information from the mother of the child on the male suspect. Based upon Sandoval's description,  they obtained a photo lineup of possible matches. Sandoval identified one of the photographs as Jonathan Burg, 24, the male suspect involved in the attempted child abduction. Just after 10:30 p.m. officers responded to the Dahl's Motel at 2010 Feather River Blvd. Officers contacted Burg who was alone in the room. He was arrested without incident and booked into the Butte County Jail for Attempted Kidnapping.

Oroville Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping that happened yesterday around 4:15. Laura Sandoval says she was walking with her 6-year-old daughter in the area of Mitchell Avenue when a man started shouting profanities at them while quickly walking towards them. The man threatened to take the daughter and Sandoval tried to pepper spray him. After the man ran away, Sandoval flagged down a car to call 911. The description of the suspect is a white male, around the age of 30, about 6 ft tall, wearing blue jeans, and a backpack with a jacket clipped on it, and a baseball cap.
