The amount of trash is growing in Bidwell Park and that has park officials concerned. Park officials say they've noticed an increase in homeless encampments which is adding to the trash problem. Due to the city’s budget cuts, the park's staff has been reduced. Thousands of volunteers donate their time to clean Bidwell Park on a regular basis. But the rising number of encampments has only created more work than park staff and volunteers can keep up with. Park officials say, last year volunteers dedicated twenty-thousand hours to help clean Bidwell Park, and that number keeps growing.
