The North Valley is under a freeze warning through Friday.

Butte County officials advise wearing layers, including hats and scarves.

They also recommend keeping your gas tank at least half full, especially while traveling.

Cal Fire advises having a carbon monoxide detector for your home, and to wet and properly dispose of any ashes after using your chimney.

When in doubt, remember the three p’s.

“We are in a hard freeze watch and for that cold weather we would ask people to bring pets and plants inside, insulate your pipes, and let faucets drip so they don't freeze,” Butte Co. PIO Casey Hatcher said.

You can download the Caltrans quickmap app for road conditions.

You can also visit the National Weather Service website for all local weather information.

Cal Fire and Butte Co. Fire will lift the requirement for burning permits this Friday. That will last until May 1, 2014.
