Redding police arrest a teen after he led officers on a chase and purposely rammed his car into a police K9 car.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. Thursday when officers responded to a possible burglary in progress.

Officers saw the suspect's car at the Best Western Motel, but the driver fled onto southbound I-5 when they attempted a stop.

The suspect continued driving onto city streets and intentionally rammed and damaged a Redding K9 police car that was stopped on Center Street, just south of Placer Street.

The 16-year-old male suspect from Anderson then fled on foot after ditching his car but was immediately stopped by officers with the help of a K9.

He was booked into Shasta County Juvenile Hall.
