Second Case of Whooping Cough Confirmed at Citrus Elementary

The Butte County Health Department has confirmed a second case of whooping cough at Citrus Elementary in Chico.


The first student was confirmed to have Pertussis on October 31 at the same school. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, whooping cough is highly contagious and causes

Uncontrollable, violent coughing which makes is hard to breathe.
