Firefighters from the Redding Fire Department rang bells and accepted donations for the Salvation Army outside of the Mt. Shasta Mall, Shopko, and Walmart today.
The firefighters are known for bringing in the largest amount of money to the Salvation Army in Redding every year.
Last year they brought in over $2,600 and are hoping for a similar result this year.
But it's not just about the money for the firefighters.
"It's fun," said Fire Engineer Mike Loew. "We get to see a lot of people and everybody seems to be in a good mood around this time of year, and everyone seems willing to give and that's a nice thing to see from our community."
