The American Red Cross hosted a free fire safety seminar today in Red Bluff called 'Team Firestopper'.
Participants were presented with various fire safety topics such as CPR techniques and how to properly use a fire extinguisher.
When the event was completed, participants were given a free fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector.
Members of the Red Cross hope this seminar will help drop the number of fires reported in Red Bluff.
"The goal is to target communities where we respond to a high number of fire calls and Red Bluff is one of those," said Red Cross Disaster Program Manager Eric Kiltz. "We're hoping that we can use some of our resources to help limit the number of fire calls. If people can take a little more action on their own end to limit those numbers of fires. That's our goal; to help public safety."
The City of Red Bluff Fire Department and Tehama County Fire Department also took part in the seminar.
