A man is behind bars after trying to rob Chico Immediate Care on Vallombrosa Avenue in Chico.
Police say it happened around 7 p.m. Sunday when 37-year-old Daniel Ruggiero walked into the clinic, asking the staff to call him a cab.
They say he then walked into the employee area, demanded money, threatened to shoot employees and took the cash box.
Multiple employees fought and held Ruggiero to the ground, as officers made their way to the scene.
Police say Ruggiero is a transient and had no weapons.
He was booked into the Chico Police Department jail and later transported to Butte County Jail.
Employees at the business suffered minor injuries.
