CASTAIC, Calif. (AP)- As coroner's officials try to determine whether a body found burning near a Southern California lake is that of a missing college student, deputies continue to scour the area for the 19-year-old man.
A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department statement says the search for Bryce Laspisa continued Tuesday in the Castaic Lake area.
Crews using dogs and helicopters have searched the rural recreation area since Friday. Scuba divers have searched the lake about 40 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.
Meanwhile the Orange County Register reports dental records are being used to help determine the identity of the badly burned remains, which were found Wednesday.
Laspisa, who attends Sierra College north of Sacramento, vanished about two weeks ago on the way to visit his parents in Laguna Niguel.
