According to PublicCEO.com, a "local government news site dedicated to providing a statewide perspective on California’s cities", The Modoc County Board of Supervisors has voted to join Siskiyou County in their effort to secede from the state of California.

The website’s report indicated the item was featured on the agenda in today’s Board of Supervisors meeting and provided a link to the county’s declaration. The vote makes Modoc County the second in the North State to begin the long process of seceding from the state and forming the long sought after State of Jefferson. Siskiyou County made the move to begin its secession process this summer.
