Cal Fire Public Information Officer Mary-Anne Aldrich stated this afternoon a man who suffered burns during a mobile home fire in Paradise has been transported to UC Davis Medical Center for further treatment. His condition remains unknown at this time.

Just after 12:30 p.m. this afternoon Cal Fire responded to a report of a possible escaped controlled burn near 1401 Towhee Lane just off the Skyway. Firefighters arrived to find a single wide motor home fully engulfed in flames. The fire threatened nearby residences but fire crews prevented them from sustaining any significant damage.

Aldrich said the initial report of an escaped controlled burn was unfounded but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The mobile home was completely destroyed with the damages estimated at nearly $80,000, according to Aldrich. A vehicle on the property also sustained some damage.

Cal Fire crews will remain at the scene for the next several hours as they mop up and investigate the fire and its cause.
