Man arrested for homicide in Trinity County

Dakota Danial Hayward, 21, was arrested for the murder of William “Billy” Foster who was found shot to death in a residence on the corner of Maude and Airport Road in Trinity Center on Saturday. 

According to the Trinity County Sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a call for medical aid after receiving an initial report a man had been shot. Deputies arrived at the residence and found the victim dead in the home. After the reporting party was located and interviewed, Hayward was named as a suspect in the incident and investigators soon learned he was staying at a residence in Coffee Creek, which is north of Trinity Center. Deputies found Hayward at the residence where he was arrested without incident.

The Sheriff’s Office has not released more details regarding the motive or any other specific information regarding the case at this time.

Hayward is currently being held in the Trinity County Jail without bail.
