It's a murder mystery still under investigation by the Butte County Sheriff's Office. Lewis Newton's body was found under a tarp on October 11th in Palermo after he was shot outside of what investigators say was his home. Investigators say they found a marijuana garden at the location and are still investigating if it played a role in Newton's death. Jason Newton remembers his last conversation with his older brother in the days leading up to his death. The family says they weren’t aware of anyone that may have been on bad terms with him. Newton has left behind his 7 year old son and 23 year old daughter. Murphy's Pawn and Loan in Oroville will be accepting donations to set up a trust fund for Newton's son to help him with school.
