Chico police officers were busy this Halloween, but there were no significant acts of violence. A total of 37 arrests were made between 6 p.m. and 4 a.m., the majority for drunk in public. There were also 5 arrests for D.U.I. Many of those taken into custody were either local residents or Chico State students. According to Chico Police, the south campus area had activity between 10 and 11:30 p.m. last night but then died down. Downtown bars were filled with people, but some businesses decided to close at 10 p.m. last night. One person arrived at Rideout Hospital in Marysville saying he was stabbed while in Chico, but he was uncooperative with officers and would not tell them where it happened.
