The Glenn County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted today to join the State of Jefferson movement and begin the process of seceding from the state of California.

According to the declaration and petition filed with and eventually passed by the Board of Supervisors, the county felt state and federal agencies have denied the county and “its businesses, and its citizens, access to our most abundant natural resources, and fishing grounds, causing untold harm to our economy, as well as to our health and public safety...”

The petition also cited “sue and settle” practices by state and federal agencies and lack of legislative representation on the state and federal levels as further reason to begin its withdrawal from California. The county wishes to form a new state “which represents the needs, provides opportunity, and protects the rights, liberties, public health, and safety of the people of a new State of Jefferson.”

Someone needs to get rid of those idiots (the board members). Look at what a job they are doing in Willows as it is. It is like a ghost town. Anything that FOX NEWS is advertising for, is not a good thing or the truth.. So now they are going to dictate your beliefs and actions. You are going to all belong to NRA, not have health care and all be republicans??

SteelMfg2010 obviously has no idea what he is talking about. Even if we did not get any electoral votes, so what. We don't have a voice right now. We are being taxed by a governor who could not get taxes passed, so he implemented them on our tax bills as a fee through Executive Order. Most of our taxes go to Southern California, as do our resources and we are left with virtually no services from the state.

yet another attempt by large subsidy loving ( over $120 billion from 2009-2011 ) farms to cheat the system by gaining electoral votes they don't deserve. We need to abolish the electoral college so all the secessionist crack pots that suck up federal subsidies, then get mad at the big city folks whose taxes are paying those subsidies. You want change, then get an education and learn to work the system. Its tough, buts its the law. You dont get to hold the government hostage because your pouting you didn't get your way.The sooner we get rid of these leeching GOP, uneducated Tea Party crack pots, the better. Secede, but no electoral vote for you, enough with your cheating and corporate snake in the grass Tea Party Koch Brother propoganda.
