After gathering further information from emergency personnel at the scene, we have now learned the accident was a single vehicle accident. Initial reports indicated multiple cars, but that is because CHP officers who initially responded to the scene found multiple cars at the scene. Only one car was involved in the accident, the others were witnesses who stopped to help.
Just before 2:30 p.m. A woman and a young boy were driving North on SR 45 just south of “four corners” in Glenn County when for an unknown reason the driver’s silver Toyota Corolla crossed over the southbound lane, down the embankment, and into the canal. Witnesses stopped to help pull the victims out of the vehicle and water before emergency responders arrived at the scene. The roadway has been cleared and both victims were air lifted via Flight Care to Enloe Medical Center where their conditions remain unknown. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Action News Now is currently working to get more information at the scene of a a two-car accident just south of the SR 45 and SR 162, or "four corners", intersection south of the town of Glenn. CHP initially reported the accident occurred just before 2:30 p.m, and indicated one of the vehicles ended up in the canal. The roadway has been cleared and both parties involved in the accident were taken to Enloe Medical Center via Flight Care, according to CHP. No indication yet as to the identification or extent of the injuries suffered by those involved in the accident. The cause of the accident has not been released at this time.
