Fire south of Palermo contained at 60 acres

(UPDATE) 12:40 p.m. Butte County Cal Fire has fully contained a grass fire at 60 acres south of Palermo. The fire was contained at 12:27 p.m. 

One structure was threatened but there were no reports of injuries or damages.

Fire crews will remain at the fire throughout the day to mop up and investigate the fire’s cause. 


Butte County Cal Fire has confirmed a 15-20 acre fire is currently burning near Central House and Ahart Roads to the south of Palermo. The fire was first reported at 10:46 a.m.

Fire crews are in the process of allocating resources and will provide more information within the hour. They could not confirm if any structures or residences are threatened at this time.
