The 19-year-old man accused of striking and killing a Chico State Nursing student while riding her bike was back in court Wednesday.
During his second court appearance, Riley Hoover did not enter a plea today after his attorney asked for more time.
Hoover is accused of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated for running over 21-year-old Kristina Chesterman, who died two days later after being kept on life support so her organs could be used to help save the lives of as many as 50 people.
Chesterman's family and friends attended todays proceedings. No one wanted to talk on camera, but we spoke to the victim's mother, Sandra Chesterman, and she told Action News Now that while they were disappointed at today's delay, they are willing to wait as long as justice is served.
Hoover returns to court October 23rd.
