A new group is helping the homeless better Chico and themselves.
It’s called the Chico Cleanup Brigade. Funded by a group of local business owners called the R-Town Coalition and run by the Jesus Center, the brigade’s positive attitude seems to be contagious; inspiring others to take more pride in downtown Chico.
“Everyday it’s getting better. Everyday there’s less and less stuff in the doorways,” said BobbieSue of the brigade. “It feels wonderful. It feels like I’m part of the community again.”
The R-Town Coalition has paid for the brigade through mid-December. The group is currently seeking additional funding to continue its efforts.
