Chicoans will have an opportunity to comment on being part of the State Of Jefferson.  The Butte County State of Jefferson Committee is hosting a meeting tomorrow evening from 5:30 to 8pm.
The meeting is being held at the Butte County Library in Chico on East First Avenue and Sherman. The local group will answer questions and have a petition for people to sign.
The movement is to form a new state in America, separate from California.
Organizer, Mike Wacker, says he is hoping for a couple hundred people Saturday.  This is the first official meeting in Chico. There have been two meetings in Oroville and both of those meetings had a turnout of about 150 people.
