Incoming college students are getting to know Chico by lending a helping hand with the community chores. This year as part of the Welcome Wildcat Week some faculty members and the associated students put on a clean up day they are calling be Chico. More than 160 new students tackled 25 different locations in Chico with hard hats, reflective vests, garbage bags and metal claws to pick up trash. Downtown neighborhoods and Bidwell park are just a few of the spots they cleaned Sunday morning. Organizers say it's a great way to get the students involved with the community. They hope to continue having a Be Chico day every year during welcome week.
