A Chico State professor is still singing a happy tune after taking part in the South By Southwest music festival in Texas. She's brought back to her students what she learned. The famous Austin, Texas music festival known as South By Southwest, offers a unique diversity of original music, independent films, and emerging technologies. Anita Rivas-Gisborne attended the festival with her husband and son. While they were there they met music artists Animals and her sons favorite performer Jack Black.
Gisborne is an entertainment lawyer from Los Angeles. She is a visiting professor at Chico State teaching music business law classes. She's the first teacher ever from Chico State to produce a discussion panel at the grand music festival South By Southwest. She says her students were fascinated to learn about her work. The panel she produced at the show focused on how to prevent bands from breaking up. Her solution was communication. Gisborne says she can't wait to see what next year's festival will bring. Anita Rivas-Gisborne has been teaching at Chico State for seven months now and will continue for another year.
