Chico Police Suspect Liquor Stores Robbed By Same Man

Based on the description of the suspect and the style of the robberies, Chico Police Officers suspect the man who held up the Fair St. Market and Liquor this afternoon is the same man who robbed East Avenue Liquor yesterday afternoon.

Around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a call of an armed robbery the Fair St. Market and Liquor at 455 E. 20th St. According to what the store clerk told responding officers, the suspect was a white male in his mid-20s carrying a backpack with a bandana covering his face.

According to the department’s press release after the suspect banished a gun at the store clerk the clerk complied with his demands and the suspect fled the scene on a yellow bicycle. The suspect was last seen riding eastbound on E. 21st Street.

On Monday at 3:15 p.m. a man fitting a similar description walked into the East Avenue Liquor store and demanded cash from the teller who was completely alone at the time. The man did not brandish a gun, but verbally threatened the clerk. After taking an undisclosed amount of money the suspect fled the scene on a bicycle.

The Chico Police Department released still images of the suspect from the East Avenue Liquor surveillance the department also plans on released surveillance footage of the robbery at the Fair St. Market.

The description of the suspect by the department states he is a white male adult in his mid 20’s, large build, approximately 5’10” and rides a yellow bike.

Anyone with information pertaining to the suspect’s identity is urged to contact the Chico Police Department.
