A Chico State graduate is making a name for himself around the world. David Simmons is following his dream of traveling to different countries, and now has a chance to make it his career. At 22 years old, David Simmons of Chico has already traveled to 36 different countries. He's now seeking community support to make his lifelong dream come true.
He’s currently finishing his master's degree in Russia, and his passion led him to the travel website Juantaroo's Chief World Explorer Competition. People are competing for the chance to win an all expenses paid trip to 50 different countries and a one hundred thousand dollar yearly salary. Simmons is proud to represent Chico and has made it to the top 11 with more than 5,000 video likes. Simmons is asking for the community's support, and timing is critical as the voting ends on Monday. He also says he's learned about many different cultures, but he always remembers where he came from.
