As a result of recent rain and the likelihood of significant precipitation in upcoming days, Butte County CAL FIRE has temporarily lifted the residential dooryard burning suspension beginning Saturday, February 8, 2014.

Residents are required to have a valid burn permit and follow all rules and regulations including burning between the hours of 6:00 and 11:00 a.m.   Residential Dooryard Burning within these regulations will be allowed until conditions deem such actions unsafe.

"We encourage residents to use this time to continue their work to provide proper clearance around their homes", stated Unit Chief Greg McFadden.

CAL FIRE is continuing to ask Californians to prepare for wildfires by removing all dead plants, grass and weeds from within 30 feet of your home. Trim trees six feet from the ground, remove all leaves, pine needles and debris from roofs and create an evacuation plan.
