Just before 7:00pm Sunday, someone reported what appeared to be a pressure cooker on 7th Street in Oroville.  Police quickly blocked off the area, and the bomb squad was called in.  Several residents were told to stay indoors, and at least two convenience stores were forced to close.  The Butte County Bomb Squad was called in, and the robot was sent up close to get a look at the device.  Around 9:00pm, the device was exploded.  The Oroville Police Department has not commented on what the device was.  Some witnesses say it was a pressure cooker filled with soup.  Stay with Action News for the latest on this developing story.  Photo courtesy of John Lowe with the Oroville Mirror.
