Principal Mike Lerch has just confirmed with Action News a bomb threat was issued for Ridgeview High School this morning. Teachers and administrators of the continuation school evacuated the campus after a suspicious case was located atop a dumpster in the middle of campus at approximately 7:45 a.m. The Butte County Sheriff’s Department was contacted shortly after, and the department’s Bomb Squad was called in to examine the case. After examination, the bomb squad found the case was empty. Ridgeview High School did not resume classes for the remainder of the day and students were released from campus around 10 a.m. There are no leads in to who may have left the case on the dumpster..
