Chico is a very bike-friendly town.

In an effort to promote better bike safety, the Chico State organization Students Against Violence Everywhere (S.A.V.E.) held a rally on campus Wednesday.

Several different groups turned out to the event including University Police and Chico Velo.

This event was inspired by the recent deaths of Chico State Students who lost their lives while riding their bikes.

Organizers say their goal is to remind both cyclists and drivers to slow down and share the road.

“The place that you’re going is not so important that you’re life or the life of somebody else is not disposable,” said Josh Berglund of S.A.V.E.
