Locals made huge strides in the fight against a deadly disease up on the ridge Sunday.
More than 200 people participated in the Strides for Diabetes event in Paradise.
All the money raised will go the Feather River Hospital’s Diabetes Education Scholarship Fund.
During the event, people ran and walked different loops starting at Paradise Community Park. The goal is showing people exercise can be fun and easy to do.
“When you think about improving diabetes it’s really about making changes in the community,” said Beverly Thomassian, Feather River Hospital Diabetes Program manager. “Offering healthier meals, making it safer to exercise and more accessible to exercise, and make those small changes in their daily lives.”
