A Berry Creek couple was found brutally murdered in their remote home on Jatko road Saturday morning. Action News has learned the car of the victims was involved in a car accident on Baldrock Road on Friday at 5:15 and the driver of the car fled the scene. Authorities are looking for the driver and say he could be a suspect. The victims' son found his parents' bodies, 71-year old James Dale Starick and 69-year old Alnita May Starick in their home Saturday morning at 3:15 a.m.

"The manner of death was suspicious in nature, but cannot be disclosed at this time as far as exactly what the cause of death was," Sgt. Jason Hail from the Butte County Sheriff's Office stated. Authorities say it's unclear if anything was missing from the home, but they did say the son is not a suspect in the killings. Anyone with information on the crime is asked to contact the Butte County Sheriff's Office.

What a terrible tragedy. We will miss Jim and his wife and are grateful for the contribution they have made to Oroville's youth with the Oroville-Foothill 4-H Club. We are deeply saddened and our thoughts and prays are with their family.
