The man accused of killing a Red Bluff teen was in the Tehama County Superior Court today.

39-year-old Quentin Bealer briefly appeared with his attorney Shon Northam for a confirmation of his preliminary hearing.

Northam asked the judge for a continuation of that preliminary hearing.

Bealer is charged with murdering 14-year-old Marysa Nichols in February. Her body was found within a quarter mile of her high school.

Bealer's Attorney says he is just now receiving the autopsy report.

That's just one of the things he says needs to be looked at before a preliminary hearing.

“I've just now gotten the report, so it's taken some time to get items of discovery. It's a complicated process and not an easy case,” Northam said.

That hearing is still scheduled for October 24th.

The District Attorney has until Friday to respond to this motion, and Judge Todd Bottke will rule on it next Monday.
