Early Friday morning, Redding Police found and arrested a man who knocked two men unconscious, leaving one in critical condition.
Officers responded to Johnny's Bar on California Street around 10:40 Thursday night, where several witnesses told them a man had threatened to stab a bartender.
Police say the Johnny's employee, 25-year-old Anthony Hallman and a bar patron, 31-year-old Scott Donaldson escorted the man out before he punched them both, then fled northbound on California Street.
The suspect was later identified as 30-year-old Robert Vanryn when he left a backpack at the scene.
Vanryn was found and arrested in the area of Tehama and Pine street.
Both victims were taken to mercy medical center where Hallman is listed in stable condition.
Donaldson suffers a fractured skull and has not yet regained consciousness.
He is currently in critical condition.
