One person is in custody following a residential burglary in Humboldt County. Authorities say a resident reported his wife chased three men out of their home in the 2300 block of Redwood Street in Eureka Monday around 5 a.m. The couple said they were asleep when the heard what appeared to be someone walking in their residence. When they investigated, they found three male adults dressed in dark clothing in the hallway and living room of their residence.
The suspects immediately fled their residence after being discovered by the homeowners. The homeowners pursued the suspects out of their home. The suspects stole money, cameras, an Ipad, an Iphone, Xbox’s and a safe from their home.
A deputy who arrived in the area within a few minutes of the call, spotted three adult men on bicycles wearing dark colored clothing nearby. The deputy attempted to stop the suspects, but they fled. One suspect was found hiding in the brush and was taken into custody. He is identified as 20-year-old Tyrell Hassan Medley of Eureka. He was caught with the victim's hard drive, camera and Iphone in his backpack. He was transported and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where his bail was set at $50,000.00.
Deputies searched for the other two suspects, but did not find them. They did find a bicycle, X box, Apple Ipad, small safe and some cash stolen from the residence.
The homeowners discovered the suspects entered their residence through the attached garage which was accidentally left unlocked.
