On Saturday, Chico State parents got a taste of campus life and some pretty good bar-be-que as well.
More than 1,500 people turned out to Chico State University for the Family BBQ Weekend--making it the biggest crowd in event history.
It all went down on Yolo Lawn where families of underclassmen listened to speeches from university leaders and watched a Wildcat lacrosse match.
The goal of this event: make parents better connected with the college experience.
“It’s just a good way to let families interact,” said Chico State University Parent Relations intern Kelly Reeve. “We like to let parents know they should be involved in their students’ lives and see what’s going on in campus.”
