$15K in Fishing Equipment Stolen from Tehama County Man

67-year-old George Gates returned to his car from fishing on the Sacramento River on Halloween to find the back window of his Dodge Durango smashed and $15,000 worth of fly fishing equipment missing.

According to the sheriff department’s press release, the theft occurred sometime between noon and 5 p.m. on October 31 at the Bend Ferry Bridge.

Along with the equipment that was stolen, the damage sustained to the back window of Gates’ Durango was estimated at $500.

The sheriff’s department is investigating the theft and encourages anyone with information to contact them.
