People are celebrating Mexican Independence day, a little early. The local Latino community shared their culture on Sunday in the downtown city plaza in remembrance of Mexican Independence day which is on Monday. This is the 13th year the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of northern California has put on the event. There was a mariachi band and folklorico dance for entertainment along with 20-vendors. Also members from the Hispanic Council in Sacramento made the trip up to Chico to honor Mexican Independence day with the community.
